This summer, my son brought home a some art called "marble art", that he made a VBS. I loved it. I thought it looked modern and it also looked free :)
So since the LR is getting a revamp, I thought I'd replace a couple photos with some DIY marble art!
These frames used to be brown and greenish-grey. I just gave a coat of black paint and then whiped it off. Since the frame had texture, the black stayed where the brown used to be....perfect for my black, white, gray and yellow LR. Then I painted the matting white and the matting behind that black. (was originally tan and brown).
Then I took black construction type paper and rolled marbles (well really I rolled some round plastic bullets from the dollar store, since they had no marbles) in gray, white and yellow paint. Each marble to a color, and let one at a time roll around my paper, as I held different corners of the paper up.
Contemporary and for me....free :)

Beautiful artwork. It's simple and modern indeed. And the best part is it's free :)
ReplyDeleteThis would of been a great project for those 5 extra sets of hands you have around the house. :)
ReplyDeleteI never saw this kind of kid art before. Big fan of kid art here, for decorating. And I ain't talking about refrigerator art. I'm talking framed art -- the way you've done it. Love it! Thank you. Gotta go find a kid now...
