Hi everyone,
Wow! It's been a busy weekend so far! I'm pooped!
I'm not sure if I've mentioned it, but the hubby has been far away for work quite a bit lately. What does this mean for me?? This means: 5 kids + homeschooling + renovating + my small dietetics job + blogging + normal life stuff = exhausted Katie!
These sorts of situations present themselves over and over in my life and I have to relearn and relearn to get some help!
So, I traveled up to the in-laws this weekend. They were so great to take the kids while I went up to a neighboring city (I love cities) and shopped the GW, Salvation Army, and the best fabric stores, finding basement this and thats!
All I can say is, it was wonderful! (to all my Spokane friends, I picked up the phone to call you for a GW rendezvous more than once, but I made myself put it down and take some solo time).

This is my fave "basement pillow inspiration" picture. I'm in love with the colors and patterns. Unfortunately, I didn't run into any floral fabric nearly as cool as this, but I did find some other cool stuff! I bought WAY too much of other people's crap discards, and remembered that it sometimes takes a little alone time to remember what "balance" feels like :)
Tomorrow we'll have some more basement re-make pics and get ready for an upcoming giveaway from Cutting Edge Stencils!
Hope you're having a great weekend!

I can remember those days so well and what it felt like to get an "alone" day. It makes a world of difference, doesn't it? In between I ran like a mad woman and lived on coffee (often COLD coffee because I never had a chance to drink it while it was still hot). Bless your heart it does get better...for a while...and then the kids leave and bring the grands and drop them off and it is just like old times!;>) xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYup, you know exactly what I'm talking about! Running off cold coffee!
DeleteHope you're having a good weekend Diana!

I'm overwhelmed from last week with 5 kids and my stuff, and my dh is home. I know exactly what you're talking about! Today, I sat on my bed and read a book, all.the.way.to.the.end. My 8 year old son wanted to know when I would get up and stop being lazy. I pointed out that he was watching tv in the living room himself. Sometimes we need those lazy mental health days.
ReplyDeleteIn a little while, I'm taking the same 8 year old out to Michael's to look for supplies for his First Communion Album. We may swing by Goodwill while we're out.
I love the bright fabrics of your inspiration pictures! I've started for looking for prints like that for our brown Ikea couch in our living room. The room is small, and I thought some bright spots of color might liven it up.
