My Grandma Rocks!

The other day, my Bernina Sewing Machine broke. I have two sewing machines, so I just shoved this one away and used the other (although the Bernina sews nicer).
My grandma, (who I'm pretty sure can sew silk out of straw) stopped by and offered to take it home to "take a look at it".

She brought it back a couple days later, fixed (ya, she's incredible), and I just shoved it back in it's home and under the side table.  (I use the carrier as decor, since it's a green vintage case). I brought it out the other day to find she had cleaned and organized the entire case and machine. My first thought was....oh, that was nice of her. My case was a disaster and really dirty.

....and how cute that she puts that little piece of material in, just as if I were getting it back from an actual shop that fixes sewing machines.....

But it continues.....

Then I noticed all my bobbins and machine parts were nicely organized in ziplock baggies. When before they were scrambled together with all sorts of other things.

But wait, there's more...

Then I notice there's something laminated in the back of the case. She had made me a laminated copy of the page that shows all the parts of my machine.
This is really good for me, because I never take the time to look and when there's a problem, I just start turning dials.

* She always tells me. "you should tell all of your blog readers to get a cute frame and frame it by their machines". She's full of great ideas!

.....and what? Wait, there's more. She made me a cute little pin cushion out of a recycled yogurt container! This lady can make stuff out of anything! Is that not just the cutest thing to get from your granma?! I love it.

Just in case you want a close-up for DIY purposes.

Yup, I'm lucky.... My grandma rocks!

...and it made me think about who I'm "rockin" for this week.

We could all use someone in our corner that gives us a little pick-me-up!

Even if it's just my kids. Just doing something a little "extra".

So, that's my goal. To see who's day I can brighten a little. I'll let you know how it goes.

  6. What a sweet Grandmother is right! And what a sweet sentiment to "do unto others" as your Grandmother has done unto you. Now I know where you get your creativity and great ideas from! Your Grandmother needs her own blog. I'm sure she could teach us all! Have a great weekend!
