This is my first post on Chloe's room.
Poor girl,... she has been moved into 3 different rooms during the 5 years we've lived here. When my sister moved out, almost two years ago, (and I was just about to have #5) we moved Chloe into my sister's old room in the basement.
Chloe adores my sister and wanted to keep the room the in the same color scheme, which was brown and green, so she's lived with whatever decorations and bedding were left for the past two years. The room is tucked away, and has been out of site, out of mind....totally neglected (as far as design is concerned) for the past two years.
Time for a makeover!
I needed some wall art for above the bed. I wanted something gold. I still had some Curly Willow Branches from my neighbor and I found these sunburst mirrors and frames (before I knew they were cool) at a yard sale. I wanted something whimsical and glittery for the wall art.
Here is my husband finding a stud to screw the branch into.
We drilled a hole through the branch, where the screws would go.
We used LONG screws to attach it. I believe they were three inches. We attached the branches to studs in 4 places.
Then I secured the mirrors (some of them were frames and I used the stands to help nail and secure them to the branches). Would NOT want these falling!
I also taped up some glittery stars from a $1 bag at Michael's, and I glued little stars on too (you can barely see them in the picture). They were from Christmas star garland....wish I would have had some old-school gold teacher stars around.
I had to buy mirrors for some of the sunbursts. I purchased the round mirrors at Craft Warehouse.
Just what the room needed. Sparkle, whimsy, stars, gold
and,... it cost me under $10!
Can't wait to show you the rest of the room!
