hair coloring

So, I usually color my hair some shade of blonde. I'm awefull about keeping it done, so I usually end up with 2 inches of dark brown hair grow-out by the time I get it highlighted again. In search of some way of "blending" the dark with the light and not going to the salon (paying $80 or more dollars), 4 times per year, my sister has foiled my hair in the past with a highlighting kit, or a hair dye kit. This has sometimes held off the need of the salon for a couple of months. So today I'm going wild. I wanted the blonde on top, brown underneath look for cheap....and I mean cheap! So, the sis is foiling the top with blonde and dyeing the brown underneath with......dye from the dollar store!!! Yes, call me crazy, but it actually turned out pretty good! Not as great as Ashley Tisdale's, but a better version than what had previously been on my head! And yes, it only set me back $2 and whatever a bit of foil costs :)
