Chair Makeover

I'm almost at the end of a "Room Re-do for under $50". It's been a busy week! I know most bloggers are focusing on Christmas, Christmas, Christmas, but I figured I'd show you one other project from the room. The first project I showed from this room was the DIY Wall Sign.

I LOVE the way this chair turned out. I love the fabric. It will look so good when I haul it over to the room tomorrow.

Before....

My impressive paint I've been using for this room....An old and somewhat thick can of white paint...I think it's old cupboard enamel that was tinted to Colorplace's Berkshire White, plus a 50 cent oops paint... some rendition of Martha Stewart gray. Too bad I don't know which one it is, because it's fantastic.

After sanding, a primer coat and mixing the paint....here's a pic of the chair painted gray and you can see on the right, I'm starting to detail it.

Oh man, were there LOTS of details. More than I originally noticed!

I love how many lines and details the top has.
How I detailed or accented them, was I painted a darker gray over the lighter gray paint, after it had dried, and then wiped it off with a wet wipe. I tried not to wipe the darker gray out of the grooves.

Now to recover! My favorite part!

Recovering with this fantastic fabric.

One last shot of the upper part of the chair.

The after.....
