Our New Kid Art: With the Kids Wednesday #2

If you are new to Creatively Living, this year, I've decided to post on how to include your kids in renovating/decorating every Wednesday. 

For With the Kids Wednesday #2, 

I'm going to show  you our new kid art that has found a home on our new downstairs gallery wall (post on that later when I finish up some trim work!)

I could write many entire posts on how everyone is using such fun kid art in decor now days, but I know you've seen it and so I'll just stick to our latest piece. 

This was the original painting. This monster is about 4.5 ft x 4.5 ft! HUGE! It was only $4 at the GW and I figured I could never find a canvas, or even buy a big piece of wood that big for the cheap! 

I thought it would make a real statement on a gallery wall, so I painted it white, and the border black.

Can you tell the gallery wall was in it's beginning stages at this point? 

Then I hired this incredible free lance artist. I paid him in room and board.....and food!  

I had to give him some space guidelines, hence the tape. 

Definitely liking the picture! What do you think of Chloe's and my hair?  In case you're wondering, yes, we do have that many kids in our family.

Then I had to use my manual Cricut...ok, so I printed and cut the letters out by hand. 

and I measured the space and glued them on with glue stick....yep, I wrote glue stick. It actually works very well and you have time to re-adjust the lettering while it dries. 

This isn't the most lovely picture, but I wanted to give you an idea of how big the picture is! Please look away from all the 1/2 completed trim work! 

These pictures aren't the best. I need to learn how to take better pictures in dim basements!
