Basement Inspiration....via Pinterest

I have a decision making tug-o-war with our basement.
The problem is we moved in 4.5 yrs ago, and my husband left 2 weeks later for an 18 month Iraq deployment, and during the 4.5 years we've lived here, I've had two babies!...all to say, a lot of projects have been started and not a lot have been finished.

Then by the time you get around to finishing all of them up (right now), you want do to something different then what you started with!

I moved here from our duty station in Hawaii. The move was early and unauthorized, and therefore the government wouldn't ship anything back. Being unsentimental, I sold EVERYTHING! I kept only a few photoalbums and a few things that wouldn't sell on Craigslist or at yard sales. (Of course this made it really fun yard selling when I got to our current location!)

House of Turquoise

All this to say, all the house color decisions were from 4 yrs ago and were based on trends then and also, what I had collected from yard sales and the Goodwill.

I love to go all out in rooms. Making them just "so", but I have to be selling this place in about a year and there is no time to be changing my mind and re-painting on the timeline I have!

The basement walls are a light gray-ish blue currently, with white and black and a couple red accents.

I have felt this tug-o-war of changing the colors to make it just what I want, (especially since I've been blogging), -vs- just doing the reasonable thing, which is getting the room DONE!

Pinterest

Really, I wasn't that into these colors until I started writing this post using pics that I had found on Pinterest.

  1. Morning Katie,
I have really been finding myself being drawn to black and white more and more, since my daughter and daughter-in-law both have it, (my daughter has the red accents, my DIL has blue accents), and I see it on the blogs all the time, it has really grown on me,
so I have started to incorporate a lil in my decorating just recently, and really am enjoying it.
Sometimes it is really hard to just pick on style you really like, cause I tend to like a lot of different things, and I think we should have things in our home that we really love.
Hope you can make up your mind, course, it sort
    of sounds like you have...........
So nice that we have all these wonderful photos to look at, isn't it!!
Blessings for a nice Valentines day hon,
    Nellie
