My Cool Bubble Base & "Yarning" a Lamp Shade

I am breaking from basement projects to bring you my newly finished, revamped yard sale lamp. 

I found this lamp base at a yard sale for $3 last summer.

 It was the end of the day. 

Hadn't anyone else seen this lamp bases' super potential?  

Was everyone else really seeing outdated brass?

Because all I could see was this!

Now the lamp shade, I grabbed out of my neighbors garbage can. 

I figured I would "yarn" it. 

Is that a verb? Yarning? 

Well, I first saw this done ombre style on Vintage Revivals, and loved it. 

"Yarning" a lampshade is really easy. I simply used a little craft glue along the seam and started wrapping. When it was time to change to the next color, I would alternate colors on every other row and then I would use two rows of the new yarn color before completely switching. The arrow is showing where there are two strands, and the first arrow shows that I measured and marked the lamp shade before I began so I would know where to begin mixing the colors and where the new color would completely take over.

I colored it to match my GW boat picture.
