Back to School Lazy Susan

Hey everyone!
Well, fall is off to a crazy-fast start! I know it's not really fall yet, but with kid's fall sports starting up, and homeschooling right around the corner, the lazy days of summer are in the rear-view mirror!
Now that our house is (basically) finished, and I'm not up late hours of the night painting baseboards, I have been able to work on a couple simple crafts and sewing projects.

We use our small downstairs basement table to do a lot of our home school work, but we are often spending too much time searching for glue, pencils, crayons and erasers!
So this is something I threw together the other day to make life a little easier.

A Back to School Lazy Susan.

Supplies:
1. Any type of jar. I found the best jars were actually random little jars from the fridge, rather than canning jars.
2. School supplies needing to be organized
3.  Labels that I picked up at in the dollar section at Micheal's.
4. A fun tray to put the Lazy Susan on. Just to add some fun color and pattern.
5. A Lazy Susan from IKEA.
6. Fun scrapbook paper.

Steps:
1. I traced the bottoms of the jars and cut out scrapbook paper to line the bottoms. I figured this would just add some fun pattern and color.
2.  I printed the words of the school supplies on card stock and glued them behind the label.
3. I hot glued the labels on the jars.
4. I layered the jars on the Lazy Susan and then put the Lazy Susan on the pattered tray.

The results:
An easy to turn, craft supply-filled Lazy Susan.

This is how I have it when I show the house. With some silver, teal and fresh flowers.

Hopefully this will save some time looking for supplies, and keep them nicely organized.

    1. It's a semester, by semester thing around here...but one thing I love is that we do it through the school district, and my kids take classes at the school dist. home school site twice a week. I know they have one in Vancouver/Portland area because my cousin's kids use it. Ask away, anytime. I'd be happy to answer what I can :)
