In early December, we tore the old carpet off our stairway. I was thinking that a stairway "re-do" would be so fast....haha, isn't that what we always think? Originally it was lovely, with pink walls and a purple/yellow basket boarder and old cream colored carpet!
Well, wouldn't you know, there was vinyl glued to the stairs under the carpet...it was glued so well, that we had to chip away at it, in the middle of this project I wished we would have just replaced the carpet with other carpet. So...now we had some damaged staircase wood, and I noticed that uncarpeted stairs and sort of cold and dirty at our house in the winter, so I decided to paint the stairs white and look into stair tread.....this is what I found at Home Depot on line! I love it. Installed it today! 5 million coats of white paint and a few staples later...we have it finished! Looks great!!!
It's a 9in x 26in piece. Bought one for each stair. I've never seen stair tread in little pads like this, but it makes for some easy installation!
Very inspiring, Katie! I didn't realize they sold small tread pads either. Thanks for the heads up :D

ReplyDeleteOh good. Just what I need for my basement steps. But I have to decide what to do with the walls first....
