I've seen some great apothecary type jars and bottles in blog-land lately! I just love all the older looking labels. One I saw was a soap dispenser made out of a bottle. So I decided to try to make one. Unfortuantly, I coudln't find any directions, and the free apocathy lables I found weren't the best (now I know to look on graphics fairy ).
Here's my attempt. Cute, but only time will tell if it holds up under 7 people washing their hands multiple times/day!
Free graphics I found, before I thought to look on Graphics Fairy
Supplies: Some people just Mod Podge, but I figured that wouldn't hold up under lots of water, so I added clear fingernail polish too.
more supplies....
Printed and cut out the lable, gave it one coat of clean fingernail polish, the after it dried Mod Podged it to the jar, scratched off the Mod Podge around the sides once it dried. Then put another coat of clear fingernail polish over it.
I also painted and clear fingernail polished the ring, since I didn't have any smaller sliver ones.
Coudln't find my drill, so I just took a hammer and nail to this lid. Then I finished it off with wire cutters.....gotta be ingenuitive right?
Here she is....my new soap dispenser :)
