#7 Pillow ($2.00)

#7 pillow....my son tells me I chose that # becuase he is 7 yrs old. :)

I invisioned this pillow for my new breakfast nook. I'm glad it turned out so well. We have enjoyed it so far.

I took an old pillow from around the house, that I didn't care for. Ratty tatty old pillow! I try not to buy pillow batting. I try to use used stuffing to save on cost....I know, that may seem silly, but it's saved me quite a bit so far!

I measured some fabric that I had around to a pillow that was approx the size I wanted #7 to be.

I printed a #7 in a font I liked. I think I had to use font that was 500 times the norm.

Then I cut out the 7 and use Velveteen fabric puffy paint to paint the paper #7. I had to work quickly, so the paint would stay wet. If I used it under the steam part of the iron, it would puff up, but I kind of like it un-puffy, so I think I'll leave it.

After I had coated the #7 in paint, I then carefully laid it on the middle of the pillow (yes, I measured).

When I took it off, it looked like this. BTW, I just laid it on one side of the pillow material, don't have the other side of the pillow underneath, or the paint may soak through.

Then I pinned some RED piping around it. Don't know why, but I thought I should go with the fire-truck red, instead of the darker red, and I'm glad I did.

Here's #7's home, in the nook.

I sure like how she turned out!

material = free...already had it around. At Wallmart probably would have cost $1-2.
Paint = free...already had it. I think it costs a couple dollars at Joann's
piping = $2.00 If you use a Joann's cupon it could be %40 off.
Stuffing = free....you already knew that :)
