Room Re-do for $70! Room Reveal

I suppose I should finally do the

Room Re-do for under $70 REVEAL!

My sister owns her own business and is a single mother. She has such a heart for her clients, is a kind person and a fantastic mother, however, with a busy work schedule and taking time for B (my nephew), she doesn't have time to do all the work on her house she would like (even though it usually does look good!)

So, for Christmas, I told her I would do a room re-do for her. Doesn't every good, hard-working, single mom need a fantastic bedroom to come home to?!

So here are the before pics (she might shoot me for putting these in). She actually is very good with design, and her main living areas look great, but we know how we all neglect our bedrooms!

She already had some great pieces! Some just needed painting. She already had this fantastic bedspread and shams from target (the one with the gathered squares sort of like Anthro).

She also had the painting sitting in a spare room on the floor! It's fabulous and was our inspiration piece.  She paints these herself! She has done so many fabulous ones!!!

I made the pillows from clearance material, and the grey throw was from Goodwill fabric. The lights and pillow batting were the most expensive part of the room.

I found the lights at Big Lots for $15 each. I scouted MANY Goodwills and realized I couldn't make or find any lamps for much less.

The curtains were from Walmart material. It was a clearance bolt of fabric for $3 in the perfect gray!

The dressers were already black, I just had to repaint the tops, and the vase and mirror she had, but were different colors of gold, so a quick spray paint job was all it took. Some flowers she had around and some branches added color and a feminine touch.

I used the condiment bowls as a catch-all and cut out a silhouette of B.

Every bedroom needs a catch-all or two!

You may have seen this corner before. The frames for the Gallery Wall were hers, I just painted them and added pictures and matting. The Candelabra was made from Goodwill sconces. She said she needed her clock, and since I'm not a fan of wall clocks, we used a Dollar Store plate holder to stand it. The sliver bowl and other vases I found at the Goodwill. All the books I used were from her back room.

I made her this Wall Art sign....for free from things most people would have around their house.

I would have loved to have added a rug and change out the ceiling fixture, but she wanted her fan and we were working on a budget and a tight timeline (like 3 days!)

Finished!

Costs:
Pillow and chair material:  $11
Pillow forms and lamps:  $38
Throw: $2
Curtains: $3
Candelabra: $2
Sliver bowls, catch-alls, and vases: $8
Pictures for gallery wall: $9
Total: $73

Of course it helps that she had furniture and paint already!!!

It is such a great space. I wish I could trade her!
