The Simple Window Treatment

I am an accessories kind of gal.  I love earrings, and scarves and shoes, and in my house it's the same way. I have a hard time leaving 1 or 2 things on a side table and I just can't seem to leave a window "undressed".  I'm wondering if I should start a "No Naked Window" campaign!

O

This is our Master Bathroom window. I'm currently at the very, very end of renovating our master bedroom, and bathroom for a couple challenges (you can see them on my sidebar)!

Never mind the dirty corners and the poor pic quality....I'm working on it, this week's been a little crazy!

Below is the "naked" window. Poor window, she needs some clothes!

Keep in mind, this is a bathroom window, so we don't really want curtains. A nice light colored roman shade would be awesome, but I'm somewhat in a time crunch, so I decided to go for something really simple, but something that would dress the window up a bit.

The plastic valence was there when we moved in, so I removed it and measured some burlap to fit around it. I think burlap goes about anywhere!

I sewed a quick cover, turned the fabric tube inside out and bunched it over the plastic valence.

I quickly pushed the valance back on it's hardware (that keeps it on the wall) and added 3 vases underneath.

Ahhh. Much better. This window looks so much happier. :) I think this project took about 20 minutes!
